POS•IM is a Point of Sale and Inventory Management software suite for both Mac and Windows systems.
POS•IM began in 1983 when Jerry Sargent, the founding owner, was working with Levi Strauss and Co. as a district sales rep. Jerry became tired of the endless paper trail required to track his inventory, so he enlisted the help of his son to build a software program to do it for him. Using this software program he became the leading sales rep for Levi's® at the time. When Levi's® questioned Jerry about his techniques, they found the inventory management software was the key to his success. Levi's® purchased the program and used Jerry and his son to perfect it.
After helping Levi's® get their inventory management program in place, Jerry thought he could help many other retail stores using the same idea. He started POS•IM wanting to relieve store owners of the stress and time used to manage and sell inventory manually. POS•IM has since evolved into a complete Point-of-Sale system recognized as a leader in its market.
Today POS•IM, LLC continues to develop and bring new features to its Point of Sale and Inventory Management software for both Mac® and Windows® systems.
