Yesterday afternoon Apple released “Security Update 2012-001” for Snow Leopard. We strongly recommend that you DO NOT install this update. We have discovered that this update causes Diamond to crash when an Open or Save dialog is prompted. This will affect several places in Diamond including, backup, importing, selecting a label command file, print dialog, etc.
To fully prevent the update, please select the update in the Software Updates window and go to Update>Ignore Update. See screenshot below.
We, and several other software companies, have submitted bug reports to Apple as this is something they will need to fix on their end.

-Backups
-Print dialogue for a processed invoice
-Use shipping file – crash
-Gift cards for GC Link – crash, you can manually enter the path
-Customer label file – crash
-USB receipt logo – freezes
-Full Size Invoice Logo – crash
-Rewards Logo File – crash
-Print Ending Tills – freezes won’t even print with automatic print selector
-Import File – crash
-Choosing logo path – crash
-Anything from scripts – crash
-Trying to select a web gateway – crash
-Import Physical Inventory – crash
-Print Today’s Payments – freeze
-Nothing goes to disc file – crash
-Hot Folder Path – crash, you can manually enter this path
-Print Settings – freezes

POS-IM released a new iPhone integration platform into their point of sale (POS) technology.
POS-IM is a small business based in Kaysville, Utah that was started in 1986. A father and son team of entrepreneurs developed a POS system for their own retail store and realized that other small businesses also needed a similar product to help run their stores. Point of Sale is a business term for tools used at the actual sales traction like cash registers or product scanners.

POSIM will be closed on Thursday, November 24th. Support will be available on this day on an “after hours” emergency basis only.
We will also be closed on Friday, November 25th, but will again offer “after hours” support during the entire day. If you need support call our office and a technical support representative will assist you. You must either have a platinum support contract with after hours incident points available, or be willing to pay for an after hours incident.

July 25th is Utah’s Pioneer Day (Utah’s Independence Day), which is a statewide holiday. POSIM encourages their employees to use this holiday to spend time with their families and enjoy the festivities. This means our office will be closed on Monday the 25th.
Tech support will be available on an “after hours,” emergency only basis. We will be back on Tuesday for business as usual.

Apple has released Mac OS X Lion (10.7). POSIM Diamond will NOT run on Mac OS X Lion because Apple is dropping support for PowerPC code through Rosetta. Do not upgrade your computers if you are using POSIM Diamond still.
Since POSIM Diamond is being replaced by POSIM EVO we are NOT going to make POSIM Diamond compatible with Mac OS X Lion. The ultimate resolution will be for you to convert to POSIM EVO. The conversion process has already been opened up and you can request to convert at anytime (depends on availability of our Sales Reps and Tech Support). Until you are able to upgrade to EVO you will need to stay on your current version of the Mac OS (Up to 10.6 – Mac OS X Snow Leopard) to run POSIM Diamond.
POSIM EVO has been tested and will work great on 10.7 (Mac OS X Lion). POSIM EVO was specifically programmed with the concept of the consistently changing Mac OS in mind, to ensure in the future we don’t need massive programming changes with each new version.
