Exciting changes have been made to POSIM Marketing Manager…
1. RICH TEXT – allows you to set the font type, size, color, and style all within the SAME text section. We personally LOVE this enhancement!
2. CANVAS TEXT – allows you to add text over the top of photographs, or make stand-alone text a graphic. A great tool for those who are uneasy with photo editing programs.
You can see tutorials on how to use these new features at:
www.tailoredresponse.com/tutorials/tutorial_list.html
Another New Feature? REWARDS. Marketing Manager has it’s own reward program that works great! Setup campaigns with multi-tier reward groups to automatically send when a certain purchase amount has been reached. This also works great for multi-store groups! Reward dollars can accumulate over multiple stores, and an email or postcard is sent when the reward level is reached.
POSIM Marketing Manager is already getting results… reports are coming in with terrific response rates. One store reported doubling their foot traffic during one month, thanks to Marketing Manager. The best part? It’s SO EASY!!! You don’t need to be an html email specialist to create amazing emails. You can easily create an email, set it to run, and watch the results pour in.

POS•IM is not only a fantastic Point of Sale system; it is also a firm foundation for your business to grow on. It has all the features you need to help you see where you’re at and where you’re going.
Retail is a business, not a hobby. Many retail owners open their doors because of their love for the products. But they soon find out that to be successful, they need to run it like a business to survive.

Successful businesses use benchmarks. A benchmark is simply a goal that needs to be reached for success. Benchmarks are set each year and reviewed at least monthly. Without benchmarks to guide the retailer, a business becomes a tumbleweed in the wind.
The successful retailer understands there are two levels of benchmarks: the department level and the store level. In many cases, the store level benchmark is simply the sum or average of all the department benchmarks.
To set benchmarks, the manager needs to have store history and industry standards. Store history gives the manager a feeling of past and present performance for the benchmark. Industry standards give the manager a feel for what has been achieved by others in the same industry. These two factors, tempered by local economic conditions and resource availability, allow the manager to set wise benchmarks.

A good beginning set of store benchmarks would include the following:
• Store Traffic – The number of people that actually come into your store.
• Capture Rate – The percent of those coming in that actually buy.
• Sales – Total of all sales.
• Maintained Margin % – The percentage of sales dollars is margin (Sales-Cost).
• Turnover Ratio – The ratio of annual cost of goods divided by the average inventory.
• Projected inventory – The calculated value of the optimum inventory value at cost.
POS•IM can provide you with all the data that you need to set and track these benchmarks. It automates the process by recording sales to customers, purchases from vendors and by giving you reports on the results. You can then control your inventory based on hard numbers rather than “gut instinct”.
If you are looking for a great Point of Sale system (for either Mac or Windows), POSIM is a perfect solution. Let us help you set a strong foundation for your business.

Apple fixed the bug reported for Snow Leopard that was causing POSIM to shut down when the keyboard locking issue occurred. If you upgrade to 10.6.2 you will no longer crash if the keyboard lock happens. Instead it will be similar to Leopard where it will lock until you click off the screen and back on.
If you never had the keyboard locking issues in Leopard there is still no evidence that suggests you will have the issue in Snow Leopard. If you would like more information about this you can find a tech note here.
There has also been an issue with Snow Leopard and Controller (multi site), which is in review and should be fixed shortly. Wait for the fix before upgrading.
If you have any questions about upgrading your OS and the impact on POS•IM, please contact tech support and they can assist you.

With many factors pointing towards an upswing in the economy, it’s surprising to hear about issues with theft these days. Perhaps it’s just an issue that will always plague retailers… good economic state or not.
After hearing from multiple retailers in the last month who had their COMPUTERS STOLEN, we would like to remind our users how important it is to BACKUP YOUR DATABASE. We can’t stress how much easier your life will be if something ever goes horribly wrong. 99.9% of the time our users don’t ever need their backup, but in that .01% of the time we find those who are either jumping for joy because they have one, or stressing when they don’t. Replacing a computer is easy (even though it sucks), but replacing two years of history is just not going to happen.
If you need help with backups you can always look at this operation educate topic or search the support pages for backup. Or, if you have a support contract, just call the support team and let them walk you through it.
We hope you never need it, but trust us… you’ll be so glad to have it when you do.

POS•IM is excited to welcome The Bicycle Cellar to the family of POS•IM users!
The Bicycle Cellar is located in downtown Tempe, Arizona, just off the ASU Campus at the Tempe Transportation center. John Romero, owner of The Bicycle Cellar has brought to Tempe a new concept for cycling enthusiasts who commute. Ride to downtown and store your bike in a secure facility, shower, change, and board the public transportation.
THE BICYCLE CELLAR - The Bicycle Cellar; empowering the green minded… Don’t just talk the talk, ride the ride!
POS•IM works well for MANY different types of retailers. This is just one more example of how it can enhance almost any business. In this case memberships are sold through the point of sale and tracked on the Customer Card. We also printed special membership cards, that they will finish printing on location by adding the customer’s picture. Overall, an exciting way to use POSIM software!
If you are located in that area you should check out the Bicycle Cellar! This unique setup allows you to get a daily ride in, but still arrive at work fresh. BIKE. PARK. SHOWER.GO!
