“We’re committed to do what a store owner does: Invest everything we’ve got, put our customers first, and work our backsides off.”
Three decades ago, a computer-driven inventory system was a novelty. Independent retailers spent their time manually tracking inventory with pen and paper and lacked time-saving business solutions. Originally conceived as a family-run business in Utah, POSIM entered the scene in 1986 with the flagship POS software, Diamond. Ahead of its’ time, Diamond was developed as an application that worked exclusively within an Apple environment and was the first Mac-based point of sale on the market.
To keep up with industry changes, POSIM quickly unveiled a Windows-supported platform, Premier. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, POSIM continued to elevate its point of sale software to keep up with the rapidly changing industry and world, in general.
In early 2011, Retail Success, LLC, with owners Shannon and Scott Maher at the helm, acquired POSIM, LLC. Retaining the existing office in the greater Salt Lake City area, POSIM nearly tripled in size during the next five years – adding staff to a newly opened office in the greater Kansas City area.
Within the first year, the newly-acquired business doubled the development staff and created new systems for feedback and customer support, along with releasing a cross-platform POS system, POSIM EVO, with the capability to run in an Apple and Windows mixed-use environment. Positive they could build on the already powerful POSIM EVO point-of-sale system, the reenergized POSIM team had released its mobile point of sale app for Apple’s iOS device in late 2011—and our Apple friends hailed it as “one of the best apps they’d ever seen,” with features no other POS system offered.
Dedicated to providing independent retailers with “big-box technology” and outstanding customer service at an affordable price point, Shannon and Scott Maher set out to change the opinion of point of sale providers. Today, POSIM continues to offer real business solutions and superior features within its powerful retail platform. With more than 6,000 licenses sold worldwide with users in more than 10 countries, POSIM is well on it’s way to become the most trusted software name in the business.
